Well, it's official -- we are the most expensive car rental company in NYC -- at least according to Pocket Change NYC. They sent over the ever-charming Richard Nouveau and two of his beautiful assistants to make absolutely certain our Lamborghini Murcielago is where it's at. And it was. There are times when renting a Ford or Chevy just won't do -- a gambling excursion to Atlantic City, club night in Manhattan or lunch with Donald Trump.
So, if you really want to impress someone, consider the Lamborghini MurciÃ©lago.The exotic sports car can be rented from Gotham Dream Cars in New York (www.gothamdreamcars.com) for $2,250 a day. Weekends cost a little more, at $4,950 from Friday through Sunday.Why so much? The MurciÃ©lago has a sales price of $290,000, and its 580-horsepower engine gives it a top speed of 205 mph and goes from 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds. It has scissor doors, and the suspension can adjust from "comfort" to "race" mode.

Some clients have taken it for a long ride, while others have traveled as little as 10 miles over two days to feign celebrity status for an evening.

Other fast cars available for rent at Gotham include the Ferrari 360 Spider, Lamborghini Gallardo, Bentley Continental GTC, Porsche 911 GT3, Aston Martin Vanquish and Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG.

If the Lambo's price seems too steep, you can always go with an "economy" car. A BMW M5 costs a mere $695 a day.
