"Last August, while searching for parking in East Hampton, a friend of mine and I devised a game to manage our frustration about the volume of cars battling their way around the parking lot. It was a rating system that broke down our competition into four categories: jalopies, practical cars, nice cars, and ridiculously fresh rides. Determining what constituted membership in group one was easy: any car that deserved a makeover on MTV's "Pimp My Ride" was indeed a jalopy..."
