News from Gotham Dream Cars

It was a rainy and cold fall day in NYC, but we trucked out the ‘ol LP640 Roadster (to the delight of everyone on 6th Avenue) and talked shop, watched some fire engines zoom by, and fired up the LP to get some giggles from the in-studio anchors.  Good times.  Video below:

Yeah, we caved — we couldn’t resist the allure any longer.  Presenting our new Mercedes-Benz S550 luxury sedan!  Mercedes’ flagship vehicle, this car is 100% awesome.  Comfortable, luxurious, smooth-as-silk, and, well, there’s just nothing bad to say about it.  It’s loaded to the gils with geeky goodness (love the all-LCD speedo & tach), and so far we can’t keep it out of the hands of our clients.  Click to see more pics…

We’re extremely excited to share this terrific video with you — The folks from CNN.com stopped by the shop for one of our recent Dream Car Tours, shot some great footage, and talked to some of our Tour participants.  Enjoy!

Lindsay Campbell, the host of the new ‘Small Business Rules’ series from Next New Networks, stopped by the shop for a quick chat and spin in our F430.  The piece came out great and she had a blast (who wouldn’t?).  Check out the video below…

This was in the works for a while but we’ve finally pulled the trigger — our brand-spankin’-new northeast clubhouse move is underway!  Our new digs are even newer, even cleaner, and even closer to Manhattan.  The shop is located in Englewood, NJ, about 5 minutes from the George Washington Bridge and less than 15 minutes from midtown Manhattan.  The move is in process but as soon as we’re finished, you can be assured we’ll have an open house (and, perhaps, a bikini car wash or two…)

Scott Mayerowitz over at ABCNews.com stopped by the showroom the other day to see some of the beauties on display (cars, people, cars) and talk about the recessionomics of the exotic car rental space.  Needless to say, a quick spin around the block in the Murcielago Roadster demonstrated why even in these lean times, folks are still seeing the value in renting vs. buying.  The full story (and link to video) is below…

Paul Toscano & Oliver Quillia from CNBC stopped by one of our recent Dream Car Tours and spent the day hanging out, snapping some photos, and meeting some of the excited Tour participants.  They put up an excellent photo slideshow on their website to report on their experience (hint:  they loved it).   

Today, Gotham Dream Cars is pleased to announce an exciting twist on our popular Dream Car Tour — the Legends Dream Car Tour.  The Legends Tour puts enthusiasts directly alongside some of the automotive world’s most famous driving legends in a fleet specialized exotic cars.

Gotham Dream Cars is excited to present the newest addition to its fleet, the full-sized Range Rover Supercharged.  This is our first forray into the luxury SUV market, so we figured why not go straight to the top?  This $94,000 monster is the best of the best - with its top-to-bottom leather interior to its sleek sporty profile, it’s the perfect blend of luxury, style and utility.  

This is somewhat of a departure from our normal line-up, but we listen to our clients - often folks have told us that while they love the 2-seaters, sometimes they want a bit more room to stretch out, bring along some luggage, and maybe even the family! :)

Gary Gastelu, the editor of the Fox Car Report on Fox News, stopped by the Gotham Dream Cars Mega-Global HQ at Teterboro Airport yesterday with his live crew and filmed a segment on us.  Really a fun time — we chatted about GDC, the economy (who doesn’t chat about that these days?), Lamborghini SUVs and showed off some of our toys.  Below is an excerpt from the show…

The Bergen Record has a nice little write-up covering some background on GDC.  They also gave a nice mention to the Break The Code promotion we’re running for Toys for Tots at the Riverside Mall.  From the article, “Q. A lot of wives do this as a surprise present. Are most of the husbands, like Ted Kennedy, relieved to hear the car is just rented?  A.  Very. The Miami New Times recently published one of the most comprehensive pieces written to date on the shady state of the exotic car rental industry in South Florida.  We spent a good amount of time with author Gus Garcia-Roberts, and we’re pleased to report that Gotham Dream Cars received extremely complementary remarks in what is otherwise a scathing review of the industry.

A highlight, with the full article below…“After slogging through this lawless industry long enough, stepping into the Gotham Dream Cars complex can be a bit startling…The cars are properly insured for rental, an on-site mechanic takes care of the fleet’s constant minor repairs, and the personable employees wear black-and-orange polo uniform tops.  It’s all so shockinly…business-y.”
