Several years ago, executives from Lamborghini took everything they know about their existing flagship model - the Murciélago - and went back to the drawing board. They locked their best engineers in a room with nothing more than a few scraps of food and some drawings of fighter jets and told them simply: 'Make the best even better.'
Out came the LP640
The latest evolution of the Murciélago is a study in refinement -- Lamborghini literally took the best-performing, best-handling, and best-looking machine they've ever produced and made it even better-performing, better-handling, and better-looking.
The LP640 Roadster is a viscious as its kin -- the monstrous V12 now pumps out 640hp and fires to an 8500rpm redline. 0-60 time has been reduced to an eye-blinking 3.3 seconds. The interior is coated head-to-toe in carbon fiber accents and its massive carbon ceramic brakes make sure stopping power is in-line with its starting power (and 640hp is plenty.)
Our Murciélago comes fully loaded from the factory, featuring:
- E-gear tiptronic transmission (clutch is operated automatically)
- Stunning pearl white exterior paint
- An interior coated in black leather and carbon fiber
- Massive carbon ceramic (CCB) brakes
- In-dash GPS navigation w/ iPod stereo integration
- Xenon (HID) headlights
And our warning still applies: This car makes everything else on the road look boring, and its exotic look doesn't only turn heads -- it stops traffic (so be careful!)
